What is Social Swim Club?
Social Swim Club is a community built around swimming, connection, and good vibes. We’re not a training group or a coaching program-we’re a fun, welcoming space for people who love the water and want to swim together.
Whether you’re here for a relaxed lap swim, a solid workout, or just the post-swim meet up (coffee shop/brewery/ect), you’re in the right place.
How Do Meetups Work?
We are currently swimming at a Lakewood Recreation Center Pool for our first meetups.
The location is not shared publicly to respect the pool, its staff, and regular swimmers. Once you sign up, you’ll receive all the details, including the exact location and how everything will run.
You will receive this information via WhatsApp. Please download that app.
Please give yourself ample time to sign in and get suited up.
Swims will last about an hour long. Social hang out to follow post swim!
Future meetups may include open-water swims and other pool partnerships as we grow.
Do I Need to Sign Up?
Yes! Signups help us keep things organized and ensure the pool is properly staffed.
Signups will open Sunday at 5:00 PM on the Social Swim Club website under RSVP. If the sign ups get delayed there will be a notice on Instagram stories. Spots will go quickly, so be ready!
If you do not secure a spot, please sign up on the waitlist.
A waiver will need to be signed after signing up for that weeks swim.
How Much Does It Cost?
The only cost right now is the rec center entrance fee.
Donations are welcomed to help keep the club going (website, marketing, merch, and admin cost).
We are working on ways to make pool access easier in the future, possibly through lane reservations instead of individual entry fees.
Who Can Join?
All paces welcome! Fast, slow, float—it doesn’t matter.
You must be able to swim at least two lengths of the pool. This is not a learn-to-swim group, and other swimmers are not responsible for instruction.
Swimmers will be grouped by motivation:
A few lanes will be leisure lap swims & social.
Some lanes will be more structured for those who want a workout.
What Do I Need to Bring?
A swimsuit and goggles
A bright swim cap if you’re joining an open-water swim
A tow float for visibility (recommended for open water)

Looking Ahead
This club has taken off faster than expected, and we are working hard to make it a long-term, sustainable community. If you have connections to an indoor pool that might be open to partnering with us, let us know!
I can already feel the energy and excitement behind this, and I know we’re building something special. Thanks for being part of it - I can’t wait to see you in the water!
